What is Yoga?
The word “yoga” comes from the Sanskrit word yuj, meaning union: the union of mind, body, and spirit. The roots of yoga can be found in ancient India, where it was developed by spiritual leaders to help condition the body for hours of meditation.
Today people seek out yoga primarily as a form of fitness but its popularity can be attributed to a vast number of benefits to a person's physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Yoga is a complete science of balanced living and a path to higher knowledge and joyful abundance. When adhered to and practiced mindfully, the principles and techniques of yoga can be the keys to unlocking your full creative potential, your capacity for love and compassion, and your ability to find success in all areas of life.

"I have been doing various forms of yoga for 10 years and was pleased to find Amana Institute when I moved to Quispamsis. Their yoga classes offer a variety of levels in a drop-in basis, which allows me to schedule my classes at my own convenience. Amana Institute gives me a place where I can go and forget about everything else that is going on in my life and as a new mother, this gives me the opportunity to take time to concentrate on just me. Amana Institute offers a friendly and welcoming environment to learn yoga and/or develop an existing practice. Stephen and Kristine are supportive and encouraging in every way."
